Although architecture involves complex dynamics and geometry, it has developed to allow for harmonization between nature and the manmade. Through a series of models, I was able to denote and illustrate the significance of nature within my models. The utilization of a constant theme, “wood,” conveyed through the photoshopped images, bestowed upon the room with a touch of “life”. This idea further evoked a sense of flow and interaction within the modelled room, where the grain fibres of the wooden walls/furniture demonstrated directional movement, again, perpetuating the significant role nature plays within architecture. Hence, through critiquing the final photoshopped images, it is evident that the natural harmonizing with the manmade further evolves architecture to a higher level.

Assessment 3 – Developing Your Style

Architecture has allowed us to approach design in a quasi-philosophical manner, allowing for harmonization between the natural and manmade. Through a series of modelling tasks, I was able to denote the importance of natural lighting and a light source when processing the modeled images. The natural light source established in the models bestowed the room with ‘life,’ such that it merged with the natural surroundings and gave feedback (shadows). Another significant case of this theory was the introduction of a night light source, where it proved to fabricate the model in a unique manner. Hence, by critiquing the final images, the introduction and harmonization of different lightings is significant.
